The government of Manitoba has announced changes to its provincial nominee program, some of which came into effect immediately on November 15, while other changes will come into effect in 2018.

The latest Express Entry draw, which took place on November 8, invited a total of 2,000 candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 458. This is the first draw to operate under a new 'tie-break' procedure whereby in the event that multiple candidates have tied CRS scores, profiles are ranked according to the date and time of submission of the profiles, with profiles that have been in the pool longer being prioritized for invitation over newer profiles. Therefore, candidates in the Express Entry pool with a score of 458 or above at the time of the draw were possibly issued an Invitation To Apply (ITA) depending on the time their profile was created. Therefore, it is possible that not all candidates with a score of 458 were invited in this draw.

Ontario is welcoming new applications under its Express Entry-aligned Human Capital Priorities stream, part of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). The province also expects to begin issuing Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to eligible candidates in the Express Entry pool before the end of 2017.

The latest draw for Saskatchewan's Entrepreneur stream, an important component of the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP), is the largest such draw to take place since the stream for more than two years.

The government of British Columbia continues to invite workers, international graduates, and entrepreneurs at low points thresholds in the most recent draws conducted on October 25 and November 1.

The most recent Federal Express Entry draws, which took place on November 1, invited 795 candidates from the Express Entry pool to apply for Canadian permanent residence.

The province of Manitoba has invited a total of 395 skilled workers to settle in the province as permanent residents in a draw that took place on October 31. These candidates, plus their family members, are now in a position to apply for immigration to Manitoba through the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP).

October 30 marks the first day of National Francophone Immigration Week in Canada, a week-long event created by the Federation of Francophone and Acadian Communities of Canada (Fédération des communautés francophones et acadienne, or FCFA) and the Francophone Immigration Networks (Réseaux en immigration francophone, or RIF) to highlight Francophone immigration and diversity in Canada.

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) announced on the morning of October 30 that the International PhD Graduate stream has reached its limit for the most recent intake period after opening on October 12.

The International Skilled Worker - Express Entry sub-category of the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) has reopened for 1,000 new applications. This intake period, which started on October 26, comes nearly three months after the previous intake on July 27.
